(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Hudson has emailed pals to reveal her newborn son weighs 7 lbs. 12 oz.

Actress Kate welcomed the little boy on Saturday night in Los Angeles, and it is her first child with musician fianc Matt Bellamy.

The star, who already has seven-year-old son Ryder with ex-husband Chris Robinson, has reportedly emailed pals more details about the birth, although a name for her second son has not yet been revealed.

According to usmagazine.com, Kate has told friends the newborn weighs a healthy 7 lbs. 12 oz. The star added to her loved-ones there was no need for extravagant baby gifts, reaffirming her desire for pals to plant "celebration trees" in the UK.

At her baby shower held last month in Malibu, which was attended by celebrity pals such as Courteney Cox Arquette and Nicole Richie, Kate is believed to have told guests she wanted trees planted in honour of the tot. The actress is reportedly seeking the services of British company Barcham Trees for the nature gifts, as she wants the trees for her and Matt's British residence.
