(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kate Winslet admits she did the "strangest things" before escaping from a fire over the summer.
The actress and her children had been staying at The Great House on Richard Branson's private Necker Island when the blaze raged through the idyllic location. Kate panicked when she awoke and saw the fire, revealing it was "like a movie".
Rather than immediately exiting the burning building, the beauty began considering clothing options.
"In disastrous moments you do the strangest things," Kate explained in an interview for Graham Norton's UK TV show. "I started to put on a bra and thought, 'That's going to take too long' so off came the bra on came the T-shirt."
Lightning struck the multi-million-pound mansion which is located in the British Virgin Islands - during a tropical hurricane in August.
The building caught fire and Kate helped her two children and Richard's elderly mother escape the flames.
The 36-year-old star has revealed it wasn't easy to get everyone out safely.
"I grabbed the children and I picked up granny," she added. "We were at the top of some slippery stone steps."
Kate is currently dating Richard's nephew Ned RocknRoll. (C) Cover Media
