(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katie Holmes and her family apparently have a penchant for all things sweet.

The actress, her husband Tom Cruise and their five-year-old daughter Suri went for an indulgent trip to the Milkshake Factory in Pittsburgh last week.

That family of three got five items that they split between and finished the whole lot, Life & Style are reporting.

"Katie ordered a vanilla salt caramel sundae for the group," an eyewitness said.

"They also ordered three 20-ounce milk shakes, and Katie said they were going to share all three so they could taste the different kinds. Suri also got a plain vanilla cone!"

Tom is currently in the area filming his new movie One Shot when he took some time off from his busy schedule to pig out with his two leading ladies.

"They got a classic chocolate made with vanilla ice cream and chocolate syrup," the customer added.

"They also got an Oreo shake and the flavour-of the week shake, which was apple pie. It has cinnamon apple pie pieces."

But their sugar fix apparently started before they even sat down at their table.

"While in the store, Katie was eating a dark-chocolate terrapin," the insider said. "It has a pecan-caramel centre and is covered with the signature dark chocolate."

"And Tom went right to the chocolate table where he got a big assortment of dark and milk chocolate."

Katie is also known for her love of cupcakes and regularly brings them to set for cast and crew when she is filming a movie. (C) Cover Media
