Abhishek Kapoor fondly known as 'Gattu' by his friends in the Bollywood fraternity, made his directorial debut with 'Rock On!!', which not only turned out to be a cult film, but also managed to deliver good numbers at the box office. Abhishek was praised again with his debutantes Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav when his film 'Kai Po Che' turned out to be a hit.

The filmmaker is known to work with new talents in Bollywood and he has always boasted about this fact. But it looks like this time he is taking the star route too.

Abhishek, recently approached none other than Katrina Kaif to play the lead in his next. Based on sources close to the director, Katrina was quite impressed with the script, and after a 4-hour long session which involved Abhishek narrating the story, the actress agreed to sign the project.

The movie will be an adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic, 'Great Expectations'. If rumors are to be believed then, Sushant, who considers Abhishek to be his mentor, will also be part of the project.

The actor has not yet confirmed the news, but sources close to him confirmed that Sushant is looking forward to his next project with 'Gattu'. The movie is expected to go on floors as early as September this year.

Let's hope that Abhishek can repeat his magic on the big screen once again, and this time with a star like Katrina.
