(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry never travels without her favourite pink blanket and is worried she's shattered illusions now she's admitted it.

The American singer began her California Dreams Tour in February, with the final dates taking place in November. Being on the road means she's spent a lot of time away from her home and husband Russell Brand, so she's come up with ways to curb homesickness.

"I have a little pink blanket that I snuggle into at night and I have a dressing gown from home. That's me at my most private and comfortable on the bus. No one should ever see me in that state I'm not trying to ruin anyone's dreams of me!" she laughed. "I am used to it though. I do a lot of travelling back and forth to LA and New York. I've routed it well so that I get to see my husband and I get time to see my kitties, who I love."

Katy and Russell are devoted to their pet cats, with Russell calling his after his favourite musician Morrissey. Katy is so enamoured with the felines she has been known to ask for them to come and visit her backstage even if it means they have to be flown in specially.

"Not a whole lot," she replied, when Look magazine asked her if she has any diva-like rider demands. "I see my husband as often as I can and sometimes get him to bring one of the cats to where we're going to be. That was a pretty weird request to put a cat on a plane and bring her across. She goes first class, but under the seat she doesn't get her own!" (C) Cover Media
