Katy Perry: I dont want to die working

8th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katy Perry says she has no interest in dying on stage.

The star is thrilled she is currently enjoying a successful career in the music industry, but insists there is more to life than work. While some of her musical peers devote their whole lives to touring and releasing new material, Katy is keen to leave some time for her friends and family. The 26-year-old married British comic star Russell Brand last year and in the future she wants to start a family with him even if it means taking a break from performing.

"I think some people will die on the stage, and I'm not so sure I want to do that," Katy said in an interview with the American edition of Elle magazine. "Like, I want to have kids! I'm totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they're worried its going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life."

Even though Katy has attracted hordes of both male and female fans with her raunchy song lyrics and provocative stage outfits, she admits she used to lack self-confidence. She was embarrassed about her ample cleavage when she was growing up and used to wish she was flat-chested. However, the star has now joked she is more than happy with her enviable curves and sexy image.

"When I was a kid I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with. I wore minimisers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder, she explained. "All I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know [my breasts] would come in handy someday.

"I'm a sexy girl. So what? I never claimed I was a nun!" (C) Cover Media
