Jolie and Pitt to adopt another child

8th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are reportedly in the latter stages of authorisation concerning the adoption of another child.

The Hollywood movie stars have three biological kids - four-year-old daughter Shiloh and two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne. They raise three adopted children together already; boys Maddox, nine, and six-year-old Pax and six-year-old girl Zahara.

Angelina has spoken in the past of her desire for an even larger family, and according to reports the latest addition to the clan will be Leah, a four-year-old girl from Haiti who lost her parents after last years devastating earthquake.

The process is currently in the latter stages of authorisation, although the little girl is reportedly set to visit the US to spend time with Angelina, Brad and the rest of the family. It is thought that if all goes well, Leah could be adopted by the end of this year.

Angelinas lawyers are in the process of getting an authorisation so Leah can spend some time with her in America. Thats standard procedure, basically they need to make sure Leah will adapt well, a source close to one of the charities involved told British newspaper The Daily Mirror.

It is believed Angelina is keen for everything to be done officially, so has been in close contact with adoption agencies, government officials and charities. The star reportedly first met Leah in February last year when she was visiting the Caribbean country on a humanitarian mission.

A lot of observers from groups such as the Red Cross are ensuring that Angelina is treated like anybody else and not fast-tracked, which would be viewed invidiously.

There is also a concern about the Haitian authorities not being able to deal with such international pressure. But for now, Angie is almost reaching the final steps of the gruelling adoption process.

If Leah fits well within her family in the States, she will be able to adopt her, added the source. (C) Cover Media
