(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Keira Knightley says she enjoyed filming new movie Never Let Me Go as she got to have more sleep.

The popular British actress is best known for appearing in period dramas such as King Arthur, Pride & Prejudice and The Duchess, which all required her to don elaborate costumes.

Whilst a fan of these types of productions, the 25-year-old believes she enjoyed shooting the more contemporary movie as it meant she spent less time in the make-up chair and more time in her bed.

Costumes are a huge part of film-making and these ones in particular tell a lot about the characters and where theyre from theyre meant to look like theyre wearing hand-me-downs from a charity shop or jumble sale. I think I spent half an hour or less in hair and make-up. It was great, as I got to have more sleep! It was a bit like, brush your hair, cover your spots and away we go, she told InStyle magazine.

Keira stars as Ruth in Never Let Me Go, alongside Andrew Garfield and Carey Mulligan. The movie focuses on a dramatic love triangle set in an oppressive Britain and the actress confirms that the subject matter led to a close friendship between the trio.

We all enjoy dealing with material like this and we didnt feel the need to break that mood. Thats magic for an actor having that. But after work, definitely wed have a drink in the bar and a giggle. I remember we played a fair bit of Scrabble. I was sh*t at it and Andrew and Carey were really good, she added. (C) Cover Media
