Kellan Lutz bruised during shoot

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kellan Lutz was left covered in bruises after hitting himself while filming new movie Immortals.

The American hunk best known for playing vampire Emmett Cullen in the Twilight franchise portrays Greek god Poseidon in the fantasy drama directed by Tarsem Singh. Kellan took part in several intricate fight scenes where he used a three-pronged spear called a trident. Although he loved letting loose in the sequences, he admits the props had to be modified because they were difficult to use.

"I have a trident, and the trident is pretty cool to fight with, especially with our battle scene. The first trident we had was heavy. I was trying to fight with it and was hitting myself and giving myself bruises, and that wasn't fun. But, we found a great method and the trident is definitely very unique," he revealed at Comic-Con in San Diego. "It's a dream role for me. And, I love that Tarsem made them young Gods, so we can have more fun with it, like we all did in our 20s or 30s. We're youthful. If you're a God, you might as well be at your physical and mental peak."

Kellan, 26, is thrilled with what he has seen so far of Immortals. He has praised Tarsem for having such a vibrant imagination and adding another dimension to the story of Greek warrior Theseus battling against imprisoned titans.

"It looks way better, and I already had it way up here," he replied when asked if the movie looks as he had imagined it would. "I can't fathom even having a dream as vivid as what Tarsem creates. It's spectacular, it really is."

Immortals boasts a star-studded cast including Henry Cavill, John Hurt, Mickey Rourke and Freida Pinto. The film will be released worldwide in November. (C) Cover Media
