Kelly Rowland happy as solo artist

20th November 2011

Kelly Rowland says being on stage alone is "comforting".

The singer was in girl band Destiny's Child before embarking on a solo career. She has remained close to her bandmates Beyonc Knowles and Michelle Williams, but is happy performing on her own.

"I'm really enjoying my space where I am right now," she told a UK TV show. "I love my sisters, but at the same time I think that there is a time and place for everything. I am in a place right now where just being on stage on by myself is comforting and I love it."

Kelly is enjoying success with her latest album Here I Am. Her third solo offering has produced hits such as Motivation, Commander and Down for Whatever.

The 30-year-old also joined the judging panel of UK talent show The X Factor this season. Kelly loves keeping busy and is happy to juggle her music and TV commitments.

"Right before I came to the UK for X Factor, I was on tour I was on the Fame Tour with Chris Brown. So being on music and then doing the TV and then doing the music and going back to TV has been a lot of fun," she explained. "Really, I can't complain at all, it has been loads of fun."
