The 42-year-old American actress portrays glamour puss Lily van der Woodsen in the hit US teen drama which follows the lives of wealthy New Yorkers with a passion for fashion.

Kelly adores the costumes she gets to wear on the show, and regrets the fact that she cant afford to splurge on so many designer items in real life.

I always say that Lily just has a bigger budget, she lamented. If I had her budget, Id probably be wearing a lot of the same things.

Kelly especially appreciates the traditionally chic items that Lily wears, and isnt such a fan of overly flamboyant pieces. The gorgeous star is currently promoting her new line of handbags on sale through shopping channel QVC and is happy that her creations arent too edgy as it means they will last numerous seasons.

I think the crossover with Lily and myself is that we both like really classic pieces, she told People. I wanted to make handbags that wouldnt go in and out of style so fast.
