(Cover) - EN Movies - Kevin Bacon thinks writers "work harder" when it comes to creating villains.
The 52-year-old actor portrays bad guy Sebastian Shaw in X-Men: First Class, a character who can absorb others' energy and use it against them.
Kevin has spoken about how much he embraced playing a baddie, and actually feels scriptwriters make more effort in developing darker characters.
"I think sometimes I'm sort of drawn to the darker things. Writers tend to work harder on darker characters and they tend to make them more complex and that's really what I'm looking for...complexity," he said in a promotional video for the film.
Kevin was thrilled to work with the film's director Matthew Vaughn, as he's always been a big fan of his work, as well as the X-Men franchise in general. He admits his decision to appear in the picture wasn't a tough one to make.
"I really like the director," he smiled.
"And I thought it was a cool franchise. It's always been a franchise I've really liked so it didn't take me long to say yes." (C) Cover Media
