Khilji aka Ranveer Singh bags Dadasaheb Phalke Award

One of the well-known entertainers of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh has been felicitated with the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for 'Padmaavat'. The 32-year-old was honoured with the Best Actor award for portraying the vicious Sultan Alauddin Khilji in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's magnum opus.

The film turned out to be the highest grosser of 2018 so far by crossing the 300 crores mark at the box-office even after not being released in a couple of states. The film that starred Shahid Kapoor and Deepika Padukone have received worldwide appreciation for their stellar performances and Ranveer Singh was hailed the most for being the vintage antagonist. 

All the hard work and pain has finally paid-off as Ranveer grabs the third Best actor award for Padmaavat. 

Some of Hindi cinema's biggest stars have been recognized with this award and this means a lot to them. The Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award committee wrote to Ranveer announcing his award, "We take immense pleasure to inform you that you have been finalised for the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2018 for the memorable role for the Padmaavat." 

Some reports stated that the actor had to tap into such dark moments of negative emotions that he may have to seek help from a shrink to get back to his normal self. Ranveer struggled a lot psychologically to cope up with this monstrous character and after all its all worth it in the end.
