Kiefer Sutherland amused by Twitter haters'

8th March 2012

Kiefer Sutherland says he secretly loves the "haters" on Twitter.

The 24 star usually visits the social networking site once a month and finds the negative comments from fans the most humorous. While scathing tweets about his work sometimes knock his confidence, he admits he finds them amusing.

"That's the problem, the haters generally are really funny even if it's at your own expense," he said during an interview for BBC Radio 1 on Thursday.

Kiefer also revealed that he finds it difficult to be equally as witty on Twitter when he wants to reply to the taunts.

"I was thinking of something clever to say and then three months went by," he quipped.

The 45-year-old actor can soon be seen in the new US television series Touch.

He plays the role of Martin Bohm, a widower and single father who discovers his emotionally challenged 11-year-old son can predict events before they happen.

Kiefer has revealed it will be the first time a show has a global launch and he urged fans to go online and provide feedback.

The star is keeping busy working on Touch and is also in negotiations for an upcoming movie adaption of 24.

But when he's not in front of a camera, Kiefer says he enjoys partying with friends.

"I do like a drink," he said. "I wish I could drink and never get drunk but they kind of go hand in hand."
