Kim Cattrall lands Broadway role

30th June 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kim Cattrall is to star in Private Lives on Broadway.

The actress appeared in a version of the Nol Coward play staged in London's West End last year. She was Amanda, in a story about a divorced couple who go on honeymoon with their new partners only to find they are staying at the same hotel.

Her stint on stage went down a storm with fans and critics alike, and it's now been announced the play will be transferring to the famous New York theatre district.

Private Lives will be staged at the Music Box Theatre, with the run starting on November 17 and ending on February 5 2012. There will also be a short run at the Royal Alexandra Theatre in Toronto, which will take place before Broadway previews start on November 6.

Kim will portray Amanda again, with Paul Gross taking on the character of Elyot, her ex-husband. Matthew Macfadyen took that part in London, but isn't reprising the role.

Director Richard Eyre helmed the production in London and will also be taking the reins when it moves Stateside. (C) Cover Media
