(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Steve Martin insists "making up" Tweets as he goes along is fun.
The American actor-and-comedian is an avid user of the social media networking site, Twitter. The star, who joined the phenomenon last September and has around 1.3 million followers, likes spontaneously tweeting when ideas crop up in his head.
"I'm just doing it free-form and making it up as I go along," he told USA Today. "It actually is fun for me. It's funny to be walking down the hallway and have a tweet appear in your mind and not knowing really where it comes from. That unpredictability to myself might mean it's unpredictable to the audience in the same way."
Steve is currently on tour with the American band Steep Canyon Rangers, promoting his bluegrass album Rare Bird Alert. The 65-year-old star plays his trademark banjo in the show, and says he loves mixing up his musical talents with comedy.
"I didn't even know if I could play the banjo for two hours," he explained. "Back in the day, touring was about performing solid comedy for 1 hours. But now I have sort of comedy leading into a song and it's a really fun form, three minutes of comedy and then a song for three minutes. It breaks things up." (C) Cover Media
