Kim Kardashian is reportedly "terrified" she's ruined her career in the wake of her split from Kris Humphries.

The reality TV star filed for a divorce from the sportsman just 72 days after tying the knot. The short-lived romance has led many to believe that it was a "hoax" and a "publicity stunt".

Kim is allegedly worried about the impact the scandal will have on her highly-lucrative career.

"Kim's usually a one-woman whirlwind. She's up at dawn working out, then on the phone to her mom to discuss business opportunities, before a day of filming and meetings for her ranges of perfumes, calendars and clothes," a source told Closer magazine.

"She honestly thought she'd do a few interviews and then get on with her life. But she's been getting hate mail and internet abuse and she's terrified she's ruined her career she's a mess."

Kim thanked her fans for sticking by her during her divorce saga recently.

The 31-year-old beauty posted on her blog after a brief hiatus and sent a message to her devotees with her gratitude.

"Hi everyone! I just wanted to thank you guys for all your support these two weeks. I took a break from blogging for a while, but I've missed you guys so much and I wanted to start sharing my updates with you all again," she wrote.

"I've been reading all your comments on here and, as always, my loyal blog dolls have been nothing but supportive. You all know who you are, so thank you! I love you guys. Kim xo sic."
