(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kristen Stewart has made a public apology to boyfriend Robert Pattinson for her affair with married director Rupert Sanders and now he has issued a statement too.

The Snow White and the Huntsman filmmaker spoke of his distress at the hurt caused to his wife Liberty Ross and their two children; Skyla and Tennyson, by his actions.

Kristen and Rupert's illicit relationship came to light yesterday after pictures were published of them kissing and caressing in a car.

"I am utterly distraught about the pain I have caused my family," the 41-year-old said.

"My beautiful wife and heavenly children are all I have in this world.

"I love them with all my heart. I am praying that we can get through this together."

Kristen had said that the "momentary indiscretion had jeopardized the most important thing in my life, the person I love and respect the most, Rob. I love him, I love him, I'm so sorry."

And it appears that the two couples were quite good friends after Liberty played Kristen's mother in the Snow White movie.

"Rob and Kristen are both very down-to-earth, very nice people," Rupert said. "We all became very close friends." (C) Cover Media
