La Toya Jackson: Ex tried to make sex deal

6th July 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - La Toya Jackson has alleged her ex-husband told Mike Tyson he could sleep with her for $100,000.

The American singer released her autobiography Starting Over last month, and it details her tumultuous marriage to Jack Gordon, who was also her manager and died in 2005. The pair married in 1989, although La Toya has claimed she was forced to take part in the nuptials. She has made allegations of violence against him, and filed for divorce in 1997.

La Toya appeared on American show The Talk yesterday, where she opened up about the marriage. She claimed Jack once tried to get boxing champion Mike to pay to have sex with her, alleging Mike has spoken about the discussion.

"Mike Tyson later told my mother and father and some other friends that he [Gordon] had told him that if he wanted to sleep with me he has to pay $100,000," she said.

"I was in brothels and everything. He put me [it was] everything I was against. He made me do Playboy twice and had me sit on the stage and say, 'Oh no, it was all my idea.' And I had to do that because I knew what he said he would do, he would do it."

La Toya explained she's written about her marriage and is now openly discussing it in the hope of helping other women. She doesn't want anyone to go through what she did, insisting although she was in her twenties when she met Jack she was actually very immature.

"I wrote this book for women. It was very difficult for me, because when he [Gordon] took me, at that time I was a strict Jehovah's Witness and I knew nothing about the world whatsoever," she explained. "I was 29 and one of those over the top religious people. I was mentally 16 because of not knowing the world and what people do, not everyone was honest and I believed everything they said."

La Toya also drew comparisons between her life and that of her late brother Michael, who died just over two years ago. She has long claimed he was scared for life just before his passing, and insists that is just how she felt when she was younger.

"The book Starting Over is a book I wrote a long time before Michael passed and it's about trying to get out of an abusive relationship or a relationship that someone is controlling you and there are people that come into your life and surround themselves around you," she said.

"In the last days, I found my brother being in that same situation as I was in. I was fortunate enough to get away and start over but unfortunately he was not."

Michael's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has pleaded not guilty to his involuntary manslaughter. (C) Cover Media
