(Cover) - EN Music - Shia LaBeouf is teaming up with Marilyn Manson to direct a documentary about the rocker's forthcoming album.
Multi-talented Shia has previously directed music videos for Cage and Kid Cudi, and Marilyn was impressed with his work. He approached the actor earlier this year about the venture and according to Shia, their initial meeting at Marilyn's home was unconventional.
"He lives in West Hollywood above a liquor store and there's no lights in the room," he revealed on US show Live with Regis and Kelly. "There are these big metal doors and he opens the door and he's in a kimono, a big pink kimono. He shakes my hand and we walk in, it's like a lair."
Marilyn gave Shia a grand tour of his abode, with its dark, cinema-inspired dcor.
"No lights, so you have to use your cell phone to guide you around," said Shia. "He's a cinephile so all he does is watch movies. Really the whole house is just a theatre. He eats, sleeps, records - it's all in a movie theatre essentially."
Overall Shia is enthused about working with Marilyn. He believes that they share a unique vision.
"[Marilyn and I] sat and watched movies a bunch and talked about what we wanted to do for the visuals on his album, which are all really eccentric ideas," recounted the actor.
Marilyn's upcoming album is slated to be released sometime later this year. (C) Cover Media
