Lady Gaga is reportedly "cringing" at the thought of the planned biopic about her life.

The Born This Way singer has made her mark in the music industry for hit records and outlandish antics, but she is not happy that her early days will be depicted on screen.

Producers are currently looking for the perfect leading lady to play the starlet in Fame Monster: The Lady Gaga Story and want a "total unknown."

But the 25-year-old is worried about what the TV movie will show.

"She's furious," a friend told Life & Style. "She's cringing at the thought of her life being exposed on television."

"Gaga doesn't want it getting out because it will portray her as insecure and needy. She wants to be seen as powerful and strong."

Gaga recently hit the milestone of having 20 million Twitter followers making her the most popular person on the social networking site.
