Rosie O'Donnell's home sells in one day

7th March 2012

Rosie O'Donnell's Chicago home has sold after just one day on the market.

The comedienne had listed the 6,000 square-foot house for $2.5 million on Monday and by yesterday she already had a buyer.

Rosie bought the 12-room house last year from Oprah Winfrey Network President Erik Logan for $2.25 million but had told the Chicago Tribune soon after that it was too large a space because her children only visited at the weekend.

"She said, I don't need this big of a house,'" her realtor told the publication. "She also said, I wish I could take this house to New York with me.'"

The home has five bathrooms, a sports bar, home theatre, 2,000 square-foot roof deck and a three-car heated garage.

The Rosie Show is now being moved to The Big Apple after undergoing several other changes which the TV host is delighted about.

"It was a mistake to take the show to Chicago just because Oprah's old studio as sitting there empty," an insider told The Huffington Post.

"Rosie loves New York. This is where she grew up, goes to the theatre and has dinner with her friends. No one was more part of this city.

"But instead of standing up for what she knew in her gut, she agreed to film out of Chicago and even work with Oprah's old staff rather than hire her own.

"But it's not just Rosie that isn't happy about flying to Chicago to film. It's proved much harder to get guests to travel to Chicago than come to New York."
