10th February 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga Jedi mind-tricked herself into not being sick on stage before a concert, as she didnt want her fans thinking she was ordinary enough to get food poisoning.

The American star is renowned for her lavish stage shows, and for the stunning costumes she wears. She is adamant her fans will always have a fantastic experience if they come to see her live, and has revealed she doesnt let anything get in the way of her performance.

Gaga explained she was once struck down with a stomach complaint after eating bad food just before a show in the UK, but refused to let it affect her.

I don't know if you knew this, but the other night, in London, I had food poisoning. I was vomiting backstage during the changes. Nobody knew...I just Jedi mind-tricked my body. [I told myself] 'You will not vomit onstage, she told Vogue.

I was also thinking, If I do, they are going to think I'm drunk. And I don't want them to think I am human, let alone drunk. I certainly wouldn't want them to think I had something so ordinary as food poisoning.

Gaga sees it as her duty to inspire confidence in her fans, and show them it is acceptable to be different. She wasnt always sure of herself when she was growing up, but now the 24-year-old couldnt be happy. She has sold millions of albums worldwide and has built up a strong base of admirers, and sees nothing wrong with admitting she knows shes successful.

I am a talented entertainer. I consider myself to have one of the greatest voices in the industry. I consider myself to be one of the greatest songwriters. I wouldn't say that I am one of the greatest dancers, but I am really quite good at what I do. I think its OK to be confident in yourself, she added. (C) Cover Media
