Lady Gaga: I'll perform alone

22nd May 2012

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lady Gaga is prepared to perform shows "alone" if religious groups keep threatening to end her tour in Asia.

The singer is currently on her Born This Way Ball global series of shows, which began on April 27 in Seoul.

Gaga recently performed in Manila, Philippines, where several religious groups have been holding prayer vigils in an attempt to stop her concerts - deemed to be blasphemous going ahead.

The 26-year-old star is famed for her provocative song lyrics and performances, but insists she won't be stopped by Indonesian authorities who are calling for her to tone down her routines.

"The Jakarta situation is 2-fold: Indonesian authorities demand I censor the show & religious extremist separately, are threatening violence," she wrote on social networking site Twitter.

"If the show does go on as scheduled, I will perform the BTWBall alone (sic)."

Gaga's world tour has been dogged by controversy in Asia. An upcoming show in Indonesia was cancelled after it was feared religious protestors might turn violent.

Censors were in the audience this week to monitor the "decency" of Gaga's show. (C) Cover Media
