Lady Gaga supports young designers

13th May 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lady Gaga is proud to have shunned couture during the making of the Judas music promo.

The 25-year-old singer released the dance record internationally last month, and the accompanying video caused controversy for its use of religious imagery.

Gaga is famed for her experimental dress sense. Despite being a huge fan of designer labels the songstress is proud to champion lesser-known designers too, explaining that is exactly what she did when she made the Judas promo.

We were laughing on the set of the Judas video we had 50 racks of couture and I wore leather, Motorhead panties made of a vintage T-shirt, custom from young designers who are my friends, my own creations, and archive Christian Lacroix from a museum, she smiled.

Gaga is the cover star for V magazines Asian issue, which features an interview between her and Sir Elton John. The singer reveals her fashion inspiration in the magazine, reaffirming her love for high street style.

Im mostly inspired by shapes, and using the body to create iconography, she told Elton.

Leather culture and high street punk fashion. I would say perfecto jackets occupy most of my fashion thoughts.

The magazine also features Lady Gagas first column for the publication, in which she describes her creative process.

Glam culture is ultimately rooted in obsession, and those of us who are truly devoted and loyal to the lifestyle of glamour are masters of its history. Or, to put it more elegantly, we are librarians, she explained in the article. (C) Cover Media
