The beautiful actress is now widely known as Blair Waldorf in the American drama series Gossip Girl. She often appears in fabulous dresses on the show, which complement her perfect complexion.

Leighton is grateful to her mother as she encouraged the star to care for her skin.

My mother taught me to treat my skin like I would a silk garment gently, and not to put any harsh products on it, Leighton told the British edition of Cosmopolitan.

The 24-year-old admits she doesnt follow her own daily beauty routine. Instead, Leighton is excited by a colleagues customs even if these can become a little intense and damage her skin.

Its not mine, its my make-up artists [routine], she added. I get serious make-up everyday; its like playing dress-up! But it takes its toll because youre being touched constantly. If Im not working Ill wear a tinted moisturiser. (C) Cover Media
