(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Liam Neeson thinks his Chronicles of Narnia character is majestic and powerful.

The Irish actor is the voice of a lion called Aslan a wise and loving creature in the latest film adaptation of C.S. Lewis fantasy novels.

Aslan enlists the help of four children, called Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy, to fight against the forces of evil that wreak havoc in the magical kingdom of Narnia.

But Liam says that, while these youngsters enjoy a playful relationship with the lion, he believes the beast is more strong than soft.

Is he that cuddly? I see him as majestic and powerful, said the 58-year-old. Certainly Lucy in the films cuddles him and they have a special rapport.

Liam admits he prepared for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader role by watching real-life dangerous big cats. The actor felt like he wanted to know why the author chose a lion for the part of leader.

Before I started playing Aslan I went out to Kenya to study lions in the wild, he explained. I was curious to see why C.S. Lewis picked a lion to be Aslan and you see these creatures in the wild and you realise why they are the king of the jungle.

However, Liam revealed he hasnt taken a look at all the writers work. The star, though, reckons parents can form a special bond with their kids if they delve into classic books.

I havent read all of them, but I have read some, he said. But they are intriguing and if you have children and you enjoy reading to them at night they are wonderful tales. There are a lot of wonderful morals that run through them and children pick up on them. (C) Cover Media
