Lily Collins understands fame game

18th September 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lily Collins will be successful because she understands the "pitfalls" of fame, says Sigourney Weaver.

The two stars appear alongside each other in Abduction, which also features Taylor Lautner. It's about a young man who discovers he's been lied to all his life and Sigourney was amazed with Lily's performance.

The young actress is the daughter of drummer Phil Collins and Jill Tavelman and Sigourney was delighted to see how seriously she takes moviemaking.

"To maintain longevity, it's important for young actors not to get caught up in the fame game. Given Lily's heritage, I think she understands the pitfalls and instead is interested in the real discipline and challenge of having a real career," she enthused to UK magazine Elle. "Lily's also mature I felt like we were peers even though I'm a few decades older."

Lily has won the lead role in a retelling of fairy tale Snow White which is being directed by Tarsem Singh. Sigourney is pleased to see the 22-year-old is trying out different types of film.

"Lily doesn't want to be typecast as a cute little ingnue, she wants to take big risks," she said. "That's what I mean by having the right attitude. She's not in it for fame and fortune. She's in it for the challenge." (C) Cover Media
