(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lindsay Lohan mocked her alleged problems with drugs and alcohol in a video shown at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) last night.
The pre-recorded clip showed Lindsay warning VMA host Chelsea Handler of the perils of drink and drugs, poking fun at the time the 24-year-old actress recently spent in prison and rehab for violating the terms of her 2007 conviction for Driving Under the Influence (DUI).
In the video Lindsay saw Chelsea backstage and asked her if she had been drinking, before quizzing the comedienne about why her SCRAM bracelet was going off, pointing to an alcohol-monitoring ankle bracelet similar to the one Lindsay herself had to wear. Have you been drinking? Linday said. Do you think anyone wants to work with a drunk? Take it from me! They don't!"
That just means my table's ready at Cheesecake Factory, the comedienne jokingly replied. Linsday then grabbed the television star and warned her, "Wake up Handler! Pull it together! You're late! [for the show]."
Lindsays advice in the spoof appeared to have a positive influence on Chelsea, who teasingly responded, "You turned your life around. Maybe I can too."
Another of the most talked-about events of the night was the mature way country singer Taylor Swifts accepted rapper Kanye Wests apology for his behaviour at last years VMAs.
At the 2009 ceremony, Kanye stormed onto the stage when Taylor won the Best Female Video category as he believed the rightful winner was Beyonc Knowles.
Kanye was mortified after the event, and has since made numerous apologies for his behaviour, which Taylor acknowledged at this weekends ceremony.
The 20-year-old star performed her song Innocent and appeared to be offering an olive branch to Kanye when she told the audience: "Everyone of us has messed up, too... I hope you remember today is never too late to be brand new.
"Thirty-two and still growing up now; who you are is not what you did. You're still an innocent."
