(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Lionel Richie reportedly arranged for an elephant to attend Nicole Richies wedding because shes obsessed with them.

Beautiful Nicole tied the knot with Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden at a star-studded ceremony on Saturday.

The nuptials took place at Nicoles father Lionels Los Angeles estate, and one of the most unusual reports emerging from the ceremony was that an elephant was involved, after one was spotted being led into Lionels home.

A source has told E! News the elephant was in fact a surprise gift from Lionel to Nicole, as the star adores the exotic animals.

"Nicole has always been obsessed with elephants. Lionel wanted to surprise her," the source revealed.

Other details to have emerged include the song Nicole walked down the aisle to. The beauty apparently made her entrance to Lionels 1986 hit Ballerina Girl, which he wrote for her when she was little. Lionel also treated guests to his own warblings, performing Your Are to the newlyweds at the reception.

Run-DMC's Rev Run reportedly officiated the ceremony, while Nicoles pal Samantha Ronson is said to have been a bridesmaid. In addition to Joel's Good Charlotte bandmate and twin Benji who was best man, stars such as Gwen Stefani, Gavin Rossdale, Kris Jenner, Khlo Kardashian, Rachel Zoe, Ellen Pompeo and Pete Wentz all celebrated the big day.

Nicole and Joels children Harlow, two, and Sparrow, 14 months, were also an integral part of the big day, with Harlow believed to have been a flower girl.

Details about the wedding breakfast have also been revealed. According to TMZ, guests could choose from filet mignon or seared ahi tuna for the main course, as well as enjoying a salad for the first course and a butternut squash-themed second course. (C) Cover Media
