(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Liza Minnelli didn't feel any pressure while making her new album, as she recorded it in her pyjamas.
The 65-year-old actress-and-singer recently put together her latest record, Confessions, and admits the process was rather surreal. Liza had undergone knee replacement surgery and was bed-ridden for six weeks before she decided to make the album before going "bananas".
The legendary star says there was no pressure on her because of the relaxed environment.
"I made it in bed. I'd had my knee replaced and I had to lie down for six weeks. I was going bananas because I always like to do something. So we recorded it in my bedroom. I was in my pyjamas when I did it. There was no pressure at all. It is intimate to say the least," she laughed in an interview with British TV show This Morning.
Liza, who is the daughter of Judy Garland and Hollywood film director Vincente Minnelli, dreamed of making her mark as a dancer and achieved that when she made her off-Broadway debut in Best Foot Forward in 1963.
The talented star initially didn't realise that to excel on stage, performers also needed a strong acting and singing background. She sounded terrible when she first tried to hold a tune.
"[My parents] just said whatever job you do, do it the best you can. I wanted to be a dancer on Broadway and I found out that you needed to sing and act. I sounded like a wounded bird when I first started," she laughed. (C) Cover Media
