Madhur denies being biased

30th August 2012

Acclaimed filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar has majorly made films on women. Be it 'Page 3', 'Chandni Bar', 'Fashion' or his latest flick 'Heroine', most of his films have had a women protagonist as the central character. This made people assume that he is biased towards the fairer sex and is more inclined to show their world onscreen. But Madhur being the frank natured person that he is, cleared this misconception that has built around his image.

"I am never gender-biased. I would agree that the ratio of female actresses is more in my films and that's why people think I make only women-oriented films but that's not the case. All of it depends upon what I like at that time," said Bhandarkar.

He added, that for him all that matters is a good story and nothing else. "For me, it is very necessary to make a good film, which garners success and critical acclaim. National Awards definitely come later," he added.

'Heroine' which he touts as his most ambitious flick till date is slated for a September 21st release.
