The poster of Madhur Bhandarkar's next film 'Indu Sarkar' was released in December 2016 while the release date of the film was kept under wraps. Now the date has been finalised and Madhur shared it on his Twitter handle by tweeting, "It's an #Emergency!! Your date with an important chapter from post independence history of India, #InduSarkar releases on 21st July 2017" with the poster alongside it.

The film is set in the emergency era which ranged between the years 1975 to 1977. This was that 21-month period when Former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared an emergency.

The film stars Kirti Kulhari, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Anupam Kher along with Bengali actor Tota Roy Chowdhury and will release on July 21, 2017.
