Tollywood and Bollywood film-maker Ram Gopal Varma said recently that Mahesh Babu was the best in the country and was better than Big B, Mahesh takes the comment very lightly.
‘I don’t think I am anywhere near to the great Amitabh Bachchan,’ reacted Mahesh. The words are good to hear, he would be deluding himself if he believed what Varma said was true added Mahesh. Mahesh Babu has been getting big praises after his "Businessman" released recently, but Mahesh his feet firm on the ground. Never the one to be bogged down by failure nor be carried away by rhetoric, he said that he doesn't think of himself as an unparalleled star just by looking at the numbers. Apparently Mahesh Babu is not ready for remakes. Mahesh said he will not touch the masterpieces with a barge pole and risk spoiling their pristine glory even if a Mani Ratnam or a Shankar approached him. Mahesh does not expect such kind of films from them nor is he ready to be cast in a James Bond type of a movie.
Mahesh Babu was sad that he could not grab the offers from Mani Ratnam and Shankar as he did not have dates and was busy with "Businessman".
