Veteran character artiste Manorama has been hospitalised after she complained of breathing difficulties. She is in the Intensive care Unit of a private hospital at Mylapore in Chennai and doctors have kept her under observation.

According to Manorama's son Boopathy, 'Doctors have detected stones in her kidney. But they said she is out of danger and can be cured soon. A team of specialists are attending her.'

Manorama is one of the very few actors in the country to work with five generation of actors. From MGR - Sivaji to Rajini - Kamal to Ajith - Vijay to the budding actors, she had acted with almost everyone in the industry.

Kollywood citizens, cutting across all barriers, fondly call her Aachi. Manorama's son Boopathy is being flooded with phone calls from industry people ever since his mother was hospitalised. Let us wish her a speedy recovery.
