Mark and longtime girlfriend French actress and model Josephine De La Baume officially tied the knot Saturday in Aix-en-Provence, France. The couple, who began dating in 2009, got engaged in February of this year.
The intimate wedding with a retro twist was host to a special selection of invitees. Mark's sisters deejay Samantha Ronson and fashion designer Charlotte Ronson were in attendance. Kate Moss and Lily Allen, who are newlyweds themselves, were also guests at the ceremony.
Mark approached the altar wearing a three-piece candy-striped suit and a pair of classic Ray Ban sunglasses. Josephine wore a vintage low-cut Zac Posen dress designed to accentuate curves and she completed her matrimonial garb with a cropped veil.
Noticeably absent from the wedding was Mark's friend and musical collaborator the late Amy Winehouse. A dear friend of the couple's, Mark and Josephine were saddened that she was not there to celebrate their matrimony. The newlyweds took the time out to dedicate a toast to Amy in remembrance.
"Amy was a great friend of both Mark and Josephine and they would have been thrilled to have her with them at their big day, but sadly it wasn't to be," a source told Us Weekly. "Amy would definitely have sung one of her hits at the wedding if she were still alive, as she meant to much to both of them. Her death devastated the pair of them."
Overall the wedding went swimmingly and the couple is overjoyed at the prospect of sharing their lives together. Although the ceremony itself was put together briskly since the announcement of their engagement in February, the pair are elated with how everything worked out.
"It's clearly true love," the source said. "There was a great deal of planning involved - especially to get celebrity friends in at such short notice, but it all worked extremely well." (C) Cover Media
