(Cover) - EN Movies - Mark Wahlberg has announced that a sequel to hit movie The Fighter is underway.
The actor revealed that he will reprise his role as boxer Micky Ward at the Spike TV Guys Choice Awards, where he accepted an award for Guy Movie Of The Year.
The sequel will focus on fights between Wahlberg's character and Arturo Gatti scenes that had been left out of the original plot to have material for a second movie.
"We're not going to do Fighter 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 but we are going to do 2, and we're going to do the Ward-Gatti trilogy," he announced.
The 39-year-old previously said that he "can't imagine" not doing a sequel to The Fighter.
The star didn't confirm whether director Russell O. Howard is on board again, but Mark had said earlier this year that the filmmaker was ready to get involved with the next instalment. (C) Cover Media
