(Cover) - EN Movies - Maya Rudolph has a "shorthand" language with Kristen Wiig on set.
The American actress and comedienne stars in comedy Bridesmaids alongside Kristen, Rose Byrne, Matt Lucas, Chris O'Dowd, Melissa McCarthy and Jon Hamm.
Maya, 38, is known for being a cast member on Saturday Night Live and says reuniting with Kristen, who is a current star on the comedy show, was easy.
"I was eager to work once again with Kristen, with whom I've been close since out days at SNL together. When you know somebody well, you have a shorthand," she revealed in an interview with Hip Hop Weekly.
"It's so much fun to incorporate it into this film because it makes it feel real... not just for the audience, but for us as well."
Maya says working alongside the rest of the women in the highly-successful comedy movie was a lot of fun. Knowing what her co-stars were capable of made the experience even more thrilling.
"When you know the people that you're going in to play with, it's the most fun. I knew that character was in Melissa [McCarthy], so seeing it is like a delicious meal," she described.
"You know what your friends can do. The best way to play with each other is when you're improvising or you're part of an ensemble which is really what sketch comedy and improve is about. It's about everybody's ingredient making the best possible dish."
Bridesmaids was penned by Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo and centres on character Annie, portrayed by Kristen, and her experiences as maid of honour at her best friend's wedding. (C) Cover Media
