(Cover) - EN Showbiz - The mayor of Rancho Mirage, California, is very pleased that Lindsay Lohan is in rehab in his town.

The talented actress is currently being treated at the Betty Ford Center in California, where she checked in after failing two court-ordered drug tests while on probation. She has been ordered by a judge to stay in the facility until January, and the locals appear to be happy to have the Hollywood star in the area.

Mayor Richard Kite thinks Lindsay is doing well so far, and has spoken of his pleasure to have her in Rancho Mirage.

Lindsay Lohan has already won over the locals during her stint at Betty Ford -- including the mayor of Rancho Mirage, CA ... who tells us he's very pleased LiLo's been rehabbing in his town, reported TMZ.

The mayor also supports Betty Ford in the decision to allow Lindsay to drive again. The clinic gave the star permission to get back behind the wheel earlier this week, two weeks after the Los Angeles County Probation department had restored her drivers license.

I'm not worried at all ... as long as she abides by the law, said Richard.
