Mazdoor Union demands compensation for painter's death from SLB

28th December 2016

Just a few days back a tragic incident happened on the sets of Sanjay Leela Bhansali's 'Padmavati' when a painter fell from a height of 5 feet suffering several head injuries and was declared dead after arriving in Kokilaben Hospital.

Now the Mazdoor Union and Film Studio Setting department have demanded a compensation from Bhansali for the painter's family.

Gangeshwarlal Shrivastav, General Secretary of the Union said, "Sanjay Leela Bhansali should give death compensation as soon as possible. We even urge Film City authorities not to allow construction of sets or shooting without safety measures. We would want them at least to provide ambulances or provide us a place where we could necessitate this facility from our union. The safety rules and norms are not followed or taken care of while constructing huge sets and thus such accidents occur. We will soon send a notice to the production house."

"These safety measures should not only be applicable to stars but the entire unit connected to the particular film," he added. Police officials from Aarey Colony Police station are currently investigating the case.
