It is a political satire film directed by Vijay Gutte titled 'The Accidental Prime Minister' based on the book of the same name which is a memoir by Indian policy analyst Sanjaya Baru, who was Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's media advisor from May 2004 to August 2008.
The political drama is left un-explored in Bollywood as only a film like 'Raajneeti' and 'Indu Sarkar' have catered the chord of fictionalism. The film features Anupam Kher playing the role of former Prime Minister of India 'Manmohan Singh' and the first look poster has caught all our attention.
Whether it is Priyanka or Sonia Gandhi, or NDA's Atal Bihari Vajpayee, this on-screen cabinet of ministers are seen posing for a picture.
On playing Dr. Manmohan Singh in the reel-life, Anupam Kher said,"The opportunity of portraying a contemporary personality like Dr Manmohan Singh in 'The Accidental Prime Minister' is an immense challenge for me as an actor. He is part of a 24/7 media era where the world knows his persona minutely."
By the looks of it, we can say the casting director has nailed it by choosing such perfect actors to play these cabinet ministers.
This is political drama will collide with Anushka Sharma, Katrina Kaif and Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Zero' on December 21.
It is one great confrontation of fact meeting fiction and would be interesting to see how this box-office clash goes.
