Mel B's family have publicly declared it will "never" be too late for them to end their rift.
The former Spice Girl lives in Los Angeles with her husband Stephen Belafonte. They have three-month-old daughter Madison together, while Mel has two other girls from previous relationships.
The star has a difficult relationship with her family in the UK, who haven't spoken to her for years. Her sister Danielle Brown and mother Andrea are both unhappy she is married to Stephen but still want a relationship with her.
Both Danielle and Andrea are keen to mend bridges.
"Mel knows how much we all love her. She knows that whenever she wants she can just pick up the phone to us. She can always come home and we will always be there for her," Andrea told the British edition of OK! magazine.
"But I know why she has cut contact with us, and it's not for me to say it in public. There is a huge issue here It will never be too late for her to get in touch."
Danielle and Andrea both shy away from discussing why they are no longer in touch with Mel.
They recently experienced some ill health in the family and were surprised she didn't get in touch then.
Although they are eager to see the star and her kids, neither wants to be around Stephen.
"I will never be in his company. Never. Not in a million years," said Danielle. "I will never have that man around me or my children.
Andrea added: "Absolutely no way that man will ever darken my door."
