24th September 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Douglas says working with Oliver Stone is not a walk in the park.

The actor - who is currently undergoing treatment for cancer - worked with director Oliver in the critically acclaimed 1987 film Wall Street, playing greedy and corrupt businessman Gordon Gekko.

Michael reprised his role for this years sequel, Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, which follows Gordon as he is released from prison and the star says he had a tough time working with notoriously demanding Oliver.

Olivers not a walk in the park. Hes really talented, tormented, confrontational, and hes always testing and pushing you, explained Michael in an interview with British newspaper The Daily Telegraph.

Nevertheless, Michael was pleased to have his acting abilities pushed to the limit by Oliver and says the end result was worth all the hard work.

I am very proud of this movie, he beamed.

The 65-year-old actor announced he had been diagnosed with cancer last month, and has shown immense strength and a positive attitude by continuing with all his promotional obligations for the film, even attending the premiere in New York this week.

He says that when he isnt undergoing treatment or working, he prefers to rest in the New York apartment he shares with his actress wife Catherine Zeta Jones and their children; Dylan Michael, ten, and seven-year-old Carys. Michael says music and literature have helped him cope with the illness.

Im finding that solitude and quiet is what I really need. Im really enjoying listening to music and reading books, he explained. (C) Cover Media
