Miranda Lambert says although Blake Shelton is "a ham on camera", she's glad The Voice has brought out his "softer" side.
Blake appears as a mentor on the hit TV US talent show alongside Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine and Christina Aguilera.
Blake and Miranda began dating in 2006 and tied the knot last year in Texas. Miranda is learning new aspects of her husband's personality via the series.
"We all know he's a ham on camera, but I see this side of him that's softer, almost fatherly or big brotherly," she told People.
Miranda insists Blake is the same off the camera as he is on, but the "softer" side of him has surprised her.
"It's hard to explain," she revealed. "He's so protective of his [Voice team]. He has this side to him that I didn't know about."
The pair scored a number of accolades between them at Sunday night's Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards in Las Vegas.
Miranda picked up Album of the Year and Female Vocalist of the Year prizes at the ceremony. Her fourth studio album Four the Record triumphed over records from Kenny Chesney and Lady Antebellum.
Blake - who co-hosted the ceremony with Reba McEntire - was named Male Vocalist of the Year. The singer beat stars including Brad Paisley and Chris Young to the accolade.
"Man I didn't see that coming at all," he said.
