MNS puts a halt to 'Khiladi 786' shoot

5th November 2012

Akshay Kumar and Himesh Reshammiya's forthcoming co-production 'Khiladi 786' was recently hit by an unexpected trouble when some political workers brought their shoot to halt in Mumbai.

The cast and crew of the film were shooting for some key portions at Mumbai's Wilson College when the members of political party Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) interrupted the shoot of the film.

Fortunately, Akshay had left the venue before the political workers stormed the sets. They accused the 'Khiladi 786' team of disturbing college students during exam time by shooting in the college premises.

They not only disrupted the shoot, but also caused ruckus by breaking quite a few things on shoot. Cancellation of shoot cost them a loss of about Rs.22 lakhs.

Apart from this, Anurag Kashyap's film shoot too was disrupted by Samajwadi Party (SP) workers at a Colaba restaurant where Anurag was shooting his next film 'Ugly'

However, the trouble was averted as Additional Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amitabh Gupta had sent extra police security for the same.
