Mohanlal, one of the leading stars of south India, has started a website to bring blood donors from all over the country under one umbrella. He has tied up with a couple of NGOS for this cause.

In association with Indian Blood Bank Society and Act For Humanity, Mohanlal has floated the website (www.indianbloodbank.com). The idea behind the initiative is to create a complete database of blood donors across India.

'There are many who are in need of blood. This website will provide them with details of blood donors. It will serve as a bridge between donors and patients,' the actor says, adding: 'I am proud to be part of such a noble cause.'

Those who are willing to donate blood have to register their details in this website. A popular star in Malayalam film industry, Mohanlal was last seen in Kollywood playing a crucial role in Kamal Haasan's Unnaipol Oruvan.
