Court comes to Seeman's help

28th March 2012

Popular filmmaker and founder Seeman, of Naam Thamizhar organisation was on Tuesday freed from charges that he had spoken against the integrity of India, by a court in Puducherry.

While absolving Seeman from the serious charges, Puducherry Judicial Magistrate -II  Bhuvaneswari observed that Seeman did not speak against the integrity of the country. She pointed out that the prosecution failed to prove the charges with material evidences.

The allegation from the prosecution is that Seeman posed a challenge to the integrity of the country during his address at a hunger protest organised by Government Law College students in the Union Territory.

The fast protest was held during February 2009, in support of Sri Lankan Tamils. Meanwhile, Kandupidi Kandupidi, in which Seeman played a police officer is getting ready to hit the screens soon.
