Sony Music is thrilled to release the music of 'Mankatha', Ajith's 50th film. Directed by Venkat Prabhu, the movie has songs composed by Yuvanshankar Raja. The album will be launched at a radio station in Chennai on Wednesday.
In a press release, the top audio company says, "The much awaited blockbuster 'Mankatha', starring the debonair actor Ajith, is surely raising the temperatures across the country. Even prior to the release, the movie and songs are creating a stir with the fans".

Sony adds: "The acquisition of the music rights of 'Mankatha' is part of Sony Music's overall strategy to become a dominant player in the Tamil music industry. Sony Music launched its first Tamil catalogue in 2008 and within the last three years has amassed nearly 50 per cent of the market share. As part of its growth plans, it will focus on high-revenue big-banner acquisitions in the market."

Throwing more light on the 'Mankatha' audio launch, it says, "Known for its innovative music concepts, Sony Music Entertainment, as part of its marketing initiative, will be premiering the songs of the film on Chennai's leading radio station giving the fans an opportunity to listen and enjoy the songs. In the month of May 2011, Sony Music launched a single CD track of 'Vilayadu Mankatha' that was widely accepted by the audiences and was another innovation by the music company.'
