Television actress Mouni Roy who ruled the TV industry with her popular TV show 'Naagin' is all set to mark her big Bollywood debut. While there were rumours about her starring in Akshay Kumar's upcoming film 'Gold', it is now confirmed and the actress has even started shooting for the same in London.

Director Ritesh Sidhwani wished the team all the best by tweeting on his Twitter account, "Team #Gold on the field tom all the best @akshaykumar @kagtireema @Roymouni @kapoorkkunal @TheAmitSadh #sunnykaushal #vineetsingh." Farhan Akhtar too wished the team by tweeting, "All the best team Gold. #firstdayofshoot @kagtireema @akshaykumar @TheAmitSadh @kapoorkkunal @Roymouni #sunnykaushal #cast&crew."

The film is a sports drama based on how independent India won its first Olympic Gold medal in Hockey. Apart from Akshay Kumar, the film also stars Amit Sadh and Kunal Kapoor in pivotal roles. They have been trained under special coaches for the sport.

'Gold' is directed by Reema Kagti and is slated for a release on August 15, 2018.
