Connection... Disconnection!
This film was in the news even before its release, after opposition popped up against the original title Mr Nokia. Following this, the producers had to change the name of this Manchu Manoj starrer, into Mr Nokkayya.
The end product is not as impressive as promised. The only saving grace of this film is the performance by Manchu Manoj, who has worked really hard- be it emotional, dance, romance or fight sequences.
The story goes like this: Nookayya (Manoj) leads a livelihood by stealing mobile phones. One day, he decided to quit his profession by stealing big money. As part of his mission, he takes away Rupees two crore from Anuradha. She is in possession of the huge money (how it comes to her hands is another story) only to save her husband from the clutches of kidnappers.
Only after some time, Nookayya realises his mistake and decides to help Anuradha. In the meantime, he gets cheated by his friend and dumped by the lover. When he starts his journey to save Anuradha's husband, many twists and turns follow.
Manoj delivers a solid performance. He steals the show with his skills. Sana Khan is beautiful, while Kriti Karbanda has a role to play, Murali Sharma, Vennela Kishore, Brahmanandam and others are also there.
Music by Kollywood composer Yuvan Shankar Raja is average. B.Rajasekhar's photography is commendable, while editing and other technical departments are passable.
On the whole, director Ani Kanneganti has picked a potent storyline. But he has failed in executing it into a racy movie. It starts on a decent note but the second half drags a lot making it a boring affair.
Also, this is another case of the screenplay letting down a potent story. Some scenes are confusing, while the screenplay lacks pace. At the same time, we don't deny that there are some really interesting scenes.
On the whole, the film is a once watch for Manoj's performance and an interesting storyline.
